Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar.
Suddenly the speaker stopped and decided to do a group activity. He started giving each one a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.
Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it.
Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker began— exactly this is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.

Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness.
And this is the purpose of human life.

Red Basket | Endless Acts of Kindness for Anthony.

First Philly story! Anthony has brain cancer and needs help! Red Basket is a 501(c)3 Non profit crowdfunding website. We vet the stories extensively, and cover all fees so you know exactly where your money is going and how much of it is going there. Come on now, folks!

First Project in Philadelphia!

I never really talk about my job, or anything really on this here Tumblr, but this means a lot to me so, yeah. I work at a startup nonprofit crowdfundng website called Red Basket. The things that set us apart are the fact that there are no fees (including processing fees) and we engage volunteers across the country (photographers, writers, and videographers) to help tell the stories. Anyway, this is our first project in Philadelphia, Anthony Berry and his wife, Jacqueline, are asking for help to get him to and from CA for cancer treatment. I do not personally know anyone from the area, but maybe someone knows Anthony. Or even knows someone who knows him!

His story can be found here:

Autum Ashante was accepted into the University of Connecticut at age 13.

Stephen R. Stafford II entered Morehouse College at the age 11 with three majors.

Tony Hansberry II at age 14 developed a time reducing method for hysterectomies at Shands Hospital

Honor them by sharing this post.

Salute to the enduring spirit of the children of the slaves…

A lot of the men and women that had to endure this are still alive. Don’t let people act like this is the distant past. It’s not.
